As noted previously, the compulsion to try to convince people that it does actually hurts buy-in for what would be (absent a purity spiral) a shared goal. The reason I started freelancing was that the people signing the checks don't expect me to sit through--let alone feign excitement--when they talk about a company being a unicorn and everyone getting rich. A soldier has to love his country, a mercenary just has to be good at his work.<br><br>I am happy to participate in the shared goal of, e.g., burning the IMF to the ground and having them all hanged for treason, but anyone that wants my belief in their cosmology is not likely to get it.
