@madargon ... hope you will tolerate one off-topic reply, it's about the light blue thing. Actually, someone I know on another instance does indeed paint her toenails that color.
now that I read your intro, finally, I'm glad we follow each other and we probably have quite a few things we can share.
btw. there are indeed reasons to use a bare IP, but there are a few issues to deal w. like the "ServerName" directive, esp. when it's IPv6
