I decided to try my hand at servicing a mechanical watch movement. I love mechanical watches and have several that are either never serviced or expensively professionally serviced.

I bought a practice movement to tear apart, a few tools I didn’t already have, and this adorable tiny set of starter oils.

Now I’m just waiting on the movement to get here and then we’ll see how bad I screw it up.

Either way it’ll be fun to learn.

T3: #Bulgari are making #watch parts so small you can't even see them

"Pin told me all about the design of their Piccolissimo movement. Used in some of their smallest automatic ladies watches, this movement features 100 components and weighs just one gram. That means the average component in that movement weighs just 0.01 grams."

⌚📷 The Casio WQV-1 Wrist Camera from 2000 is the first digital camera built into a wristwatch. It can store 100 black and white photos with a resolution of 120x120 pixels.

😎 It's not hard to imagine how it sparked the interest of gadget enthusiasts back then. Thanks to a kind donation to the museum, we hope that, like with the recent Gameboy Camera, we'll soon be admiring its photos as well.
