Memo<p>≪ Schweriner Rundtour ≫</p><p>Auf dieser 43 Kilometer Rundtour konnte ich wieder einige neue Reichweitenmarkierungen auf der MeshCore Karte hinzufügen. Memo<p>Schwerin Mesh i.V. (Kartenanpassungen)</p><p>Ich habe die Karte jetzt in drei Ebene aufgeteilt. In der untersten Ebene befinden sich wie bisher die Ergebnisse meiner MeshCore Reichweitentests zum SNR1. Deswegen ist auch die Nutzerzahl sehr hoch. Ich hatte ebenfalls vor langer Zeit mit Meshtastic angefangen.</p><p>Wie es aber oft bei "gewachsenen Systemen" ist, haben sich auch dort Konzeptfehler eingeschlichen. Schließlich konnte zu Beginn noch niemand wissen, wie groß das Interesse daran sein wird.</p><p>Aus diesen Fehlern konnten die beiden "Nachfolger" natürlich lernen um eben diese vermeiden.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/MeshCore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MeshCore</span></a> und <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/Reticulum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Reticulum</span></a> verfolgen allerdings zwei unterschiedliche Ansätze:</p><p>Während sich Reticulum in erster Linie als "cryptography-based networking stack" sieht, bei dem die Kommunikation mit anderen Nutzern auch (!) über LoRa Endgeräte möglich ist, verfolgt MeshCore den Ansatz der Internet-unabhängigen Kommunikation, zurzeit ausschließlich über lizenzfrei zu nutzende und preiswerte <a href="https://mstdn.mv2k.com/tags/LoRa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LoRa</span></a> Devices.</p><p>MeshCore ist erst seit drei Monaten (!) online, hat aber bereits sehr große Fortschritte gemacht. Es existieren Firmware für diverse Endgeräte und Apps für das Smartphone.</p><p>Es ist schon nach sehr kurzer Zeit zu einem System mit stetig steigender Nutzerzahl geworden. Deshalb heute noch einmal "da capo" 😀</p><p>---</p><p>Alles unter einem Dach, die 3. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯</p><p>Über meine Idee, eine deutschsprachige Community für Mesh-Netzwerke wie Meshtastic, LXMF (Reticulum), MeshCore und weitere auf Discord zu erstellen, war ich ja nie so richtig glücklich.</p><p>Aber alle aktuellen und auch die zukünftigen Mesh-Netzwerke unter „einen Hut“ zu bringen, war und ist nun einmal, sowohl aus administrativer (!) als auch aus Nutzersicht, sinnvoll.</p><p>Mir wurde dann die Idee zugetragen (danke noch einmal dafür!), dies doch mit einem Space und Unterräumen auf Matrix zu realisieren. Gerade mal getestet:
Ich kann von meiner regulären E-Mail-Adresse (TLS-verschlüsselt) an meine DeltaChat-Mail-Adresse schreiben.

DeltaChat zeigt die Mail als "Chatmail" an, kein Problem.

Aber DeltaChat verweigert die ausgehende Mail, weil sie an den Empfänger nicht PGP-verschlüsselt werden kann.

So stellt DeltaChat sicher, dass die (ausgehende) Kommunikation darüber tatsächlich nur E2E-verschlüsselt möglich ist.

Das muss halt beachtet werden, wenn eins die eigene E-Mail-Adresse für die Nutzung mit DeltaChat verwenden möchte.

Ansosnten bietet DeltaChat ja aber nach der Installation die Möglichkeit, sich eine automatisiert generierte, verschlüsstelte System-Mail-Adresse einzurichten.

Und schon kann verschlüsselt kommuniziert werden :)

- Rechnungs-Aufteilung

Der „MeshCore-Reichweiten-Test“ heute in Schwerin ist sicherlich, wie die bisherigen auch, nicht aussagekräftig, ist der Empfang zwischen den innerstädtischen Häuserschluchten, hinter Gebäuden und in Senken doch stark eingeschränkt, bis unmöglich. Die auf der Karte abgebildeten Positionen sind aber die, bei denen ich einen „Ping“ vom Server bekommen habe.

Abstand der Sendung der Pings wie bisher 5 Minuten.

Bildbeschreibung: Karte der heutigen Rundtour mit den markierten Positionen, bei denen klar ein Empfang möglich war.

I said it before on Mastodon. I'm reposting this again. Comparing #DeltaChat and #Matrix together, if you want hassle free and consistent messenger for private #E2EE chats, don't go for Matrix. DeltaChat is way better.

However, if you want something like a public forum, or a public chatroom, don't go for DeltaChat. Matrix is way better suited for that. And DeltaChat does not support public groups at all. In DeltaChat groups, there is no admin or moderator and everyone have got permission to remove or add the others.

I think I have to write a longer post on my personal blog about these two, comparing them together.
