The offpunk-users mailing-list has suddenly seen a dramatic increase in volume. People are really starting to use #offpunk and asking questions, trying to understand how it works.

Mastodon is still my favorite social media network. I like the little micro conversations I have with the few people I follow.

Bluesky is a thing. I think it's good for folks who want to be celebrities or have wide reach. But it's a textual battle royale. Overwhelming.

The tyranny of the algorithm. The one last site that I couldn't tear myself away from but had one was YouTube. I recently learned YouTube channels have RSS feeds. I am finally free. There is no algorithm on my social media now. And let me tell you, I am unbothered, moisturized, happy, in my lane, focused, flourishing.

It seems like the people responding to this poll (so far) skew towards those who experienced the Internet in the 1990s and earlier.

Which might suggest there are a lot of people on the #Fediverse that not only remember the #oldInternet , but might want to support, bring back, and re-create & restore the best parts of the "old Internet".

I'm into the #smallinternet #smallweb and related tech like #gopher and #gemini and #bbs life. I'm former #navy , former #jesuit, with an interest in comparative #religion , #philosophy . I love a good #dadjoke . Um, so many more interests! #retrogames #parenting #astronomy #chess #sewing. I recently started a #solarpunk #podcast too. Oh, and I love #writing and participate in #NaNoWriMo .

Oh right, my dayjob involves #tech work including #digitalstrategy and #marketing . I use #javascript and hate every minute. :)

If I had a bajillion monies and didn't need to work I would spend my life as a muse for everyone I meet. I want to help everyone find their passions and do cool things. I like to help. I'm not sure what hashtag to use for that.
